‘Something Of Nothing’ is a tune that I was gifted access to before its official release. It’s a special kind of feeling, but I also really just wanted to share it with you all. Luckily, today, I can! Courtesy of Swindon-based indie-pop act Talk In Code, ‘Something Of Nothing’ is the band’s first release of 2024, and they come out all guns blazing! Full of energy and zest, the 80s-flavoured smash delves into themes of taking things at face value, our tendency to overthink, and mismatched relationship dynamics.
Previously described as “Pet Shop Boys meets The 1975”, Talk In Code showcase a tremendous ability to blend retro vibes with contemporary flair. ‘Something Of Nothing’ is as infectious and it is introspective, and it’s a bold statement of the band’s artistic vision, and their dedication to delivering music that leaves a lasting impact.
Recorded at Studio 91 with Sam Winfield, (Amber Run, The Amazons, Fickle Friends) ‘Something Of Nothing’ is yet another banging tune for Talk In Code to add to their arsenal.
