My love for Nashville’s recent musical offerings has officially reached new heights! ‘Wildflower Moon’ is the brand new album from Tai Shan, an artist known for her evocative fusion of Americana, jazz, and folk. Gifting the world nine of her latest tunes, ‘Wildflower Moon’ has been described as “a family scrapbook set to music”. Exploring themes of motherhood, travels, and personal rediscovery, it’s an unbelievably beautiful little record that feels like a warm embrace for the soul.
The album opener ‘Road Back to Me’ is a soothing yet simultaneously upbeat number that envelops the listener in tender storytelling and rich soundscapes. ‘Wheels and Gasoline’ then steps up to the plate with genre-blending prowess, as Tai merges classic Americana with folky goodness.
‘My Station’ is another absolutely stunning track featuring a guitar solo by Juan Solorzano (Noah Kahan) and backup vocals provided by the artist’s three-year-old daughter, before the bold and stirring ‘Jump on In’ showcases Tai’s vocal range and talent.
Produced by industry heavyweights Neilson Hubbard (Jason Isbell) and Brandon Bee, (Justin Bieber) ‘Wildflower Moon’ is one of the most charming records I’ve heard recently. The remaining five songs are just as good as the first four, and I can’t wait to hear from Tai Shan again!
