For some reason, we weren’t aware of SYTË. Indie outfit based in New York, the band has been impressing listeners far and wide, by delivering a sound that’s rich, charming and innovative in its sonic solutions. Frankly, we are hooked! We know, we are late to the party, but in this instance, we are just happy to be here! The group’s latest effort, ‘Sirena’, is as bubbly as they come: imagine an irresistible concoction of dream pop and modern R’n’B, all treated with edgy, groovy electronica. What more could you want?
While we cherish ‘Sirena’ and save it to our playlists, we also take a deep dive into their past material. Surely, they have more gems to spare? Turns out, they do. Since their debut in 2018, founding members Nita Kaja and Drin Tashi have developed SYTË from a duo to a full-fledged band, releasing a fair number of records and mesmerising festival-goers worldwide with their punchy, energetic live shows.
It just so happens that the main writers of the group work so well with each other, complementing their strengths perfectly. Kaja’s ethereal and luscious vocals are the fitting companions to Tashi’s edgy productions, always offering something new to hold on – the devil is in the details as they say. In this case, the genius is definitely in the details. In ‘Sirena’, the young producer implements a quirky yet effective synth arpeggio, recalling the flow of bubbling water. The song is further enriched by Nita’s enchanting harmonies and wonderful melodies, particularly obvious in the chorus, a dance-filled triumph of the human senses.
A great project for peeps with style! While SYTË get ready for an EP release further down the line, make sure to stream ‘Sirena’ on Spotify, or catch the visualizer on Youtube:
