We have been following SUUNCAAT quite heavily, and frankly, we are still not tired of her expansive and ethereal brand of dream and hyper pop. Writing about past single ‘Perfect’, we proudly declared it a “bold anthem of creativity, self-empowerment, and unapologetic femininity.” Now, the Canadian songstress returns with ‘Talk’, a track that seems to embrace a more melodic side of the project.
Making use of a shoegaze-style guitar tone, ‘Talk’ features a steady and groovy beat, making for a rather straightforward yet fast-paced instrumental, packed with long soundscapes and brilliant synths. Crowning it all, we find SUUNCAAT’s quirky vocals, here showcasing their evocative and luscious character.
Defined as ‘metapop’ by the Montreal-based creative herself, ‘Talk’ is the best of both worlds: the relatability of dreamy indie matter with the dazzling energy of futuristic electronica. Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, SUUNCAAT explains: “A unique peek into the complexities of navigating romance through a neurodivergent lens.”
