Well, Canadian genius SUUNCAAT wasn’t satisfied with that, so much so that she went out of her way to craft her unique and authentic musical universe, a riveting smorgasbörd of influences and production techniques set to innovate and revolutionize.
‘Neighborhood’ is the result of such a powerful process, a way to affirm the project’s quirky artistic identity while pushing the boundaries of what we consider pop music. Some would call it hyperpop, but that’s perhaps a reductive term in this case. Boasting a fast-paced, trance-flavoured electronic beat, the record is as digital and nostalgic as it could, embarking on glitch-ridden breakdown and fragmenting SUUNCAAT’s otherworldly vocals into a million pieces.
It’s all down to the visionary production work of the Montreal artist herself; a multidisciplinary creative, she’s been searching for the right formula for a while now.
