Sunset Salore Return with Full EP ‘Love Kills the Monsters’

Following up on ‘Mistery and Magic’ – previously featured on Mesmerized – Australian songstress Sunset Galore now unveils her promised debut EP. ‘Love Kills the Monsters’ offers a wider glimpse of the project’s nuanced and elegant artistry. It expands the narrative, showcasing Galore’s range of action. From funky and disco-flavoured anthems (such as the title track) to more vibrant alt-pop gems, there’s something for everyone on the record.

‘Feel’ is one of the most positive surprises. A leftfield electronic piece with lush vocal harmonies and crepuscular sound design. In fact, Sunset Galore seems to enjoy walking the fine line between popular and niche. From all-out, catchy choruses to intimate and cathartic episodes. ‘Potential’ is instead charged with tons of soul energy, with the Aussie talent displaying her vocal prowess.

‘Don’t Owe You Pretty’ brings the record to a close with elegance and charisma, once again showcasing how much of a class act Sunset Galore is. Speaking about the lyricism in the EP, she explains: “This EP was the first time I felt ready to tell a story, and it was really cathartic, and quite reflective for me. It had been a hard few years. A number of things happened, including of course a global pandemic.”
