Balanced over folk, country and rock’n’roll pieces, ‘Heading East’ focuses on its lyrical content, building the perfect sonic livery for the Manchester-based artist’s soothing storytelling. Episodes such as ‘Conquered’ also blink an eye to pop territories, something that particularly suits the project.
