Sukh Returns with Meaningful Album ‘Heading East’

We are told that ‘Heading East’ is a product of time and wisdom. Written by Sukh many moons ago, it sees the light of day only now, benefitting from the sapient hands of producer Rox Capriotti. It is a collaboration that works well: keeping it relatable and mainstream, the album is packed with great songwriting and inspiring pieces, often exploring the powerful roller coaster we call life, drenched in love and emotions.

Sukh’s lush vocals are the perfect match for such a record. Balanced over folk, country and rock’n’roll pieces, ‘Heading East’ focuses on its lyrical content, building the perfect sonic livery for the Manchester-based artist’s soothing storytelling. Episodes such as ‘Conquered’ also blink an eye to pop territories, something that particularly suits the project.

Boasting a whopping two million streams on past single ‘Chairs’, Sukh is a living example of how there’s no need for constant innovation. A simple, beautiful song can often entice a global audience. As Sukh explains: “I wanted to explore the nature of long-term relationships; the part after the initial thrill of novelty – and a more optimistic record.”
