On a mission to reinvigorate Romania’s drum and bass scene, Sub:liminal must be doing something right, seeing the quality and depth of his recent releases. ‘Perspectives’ is the latest EP from the talented producer to hit the shelves; in it, the keen listener will be met with a stream of contemporary and vibrant D&B, often drenched in jungle influences and a certain ethereal character, especially in the many textures hovering over the beat.
While Romania had a joyful electronic music scene in the 90s, especially concerning drum and bass and all-things rave, it all fizzled out in recent years. Well, explorers and innovators such as Sub:liminal are determined to get their voices and records heard again, and ultimately get young peeps dancing to the never-ending, funk-charged sound of D&B.
Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Perspectives’, the gifted Dj and producer explains: “I’m thrilled with how ‘Perspectives’ turned out. It’s a culmination of different musical influences and collaborations that reflect both my soulful liquid side and my exploration into deeper and darker vibes.”
