Emerging from Liverpool, STR^NGE are not your typical band: they have no intention of following mainstream formulas and don’t need the fame. What they need though, is the ability to share their songs, material that’s inherently and authentically theirs. Perhaps not for everyone, ‘Let’s Leave the Greyhounds in the Slips’ will find its cohort of dedicated listeners, we are certain of that. STR^NGE’s debut EP, the record showcases the group’s theatrical and lyrical approach, focusing on storytelling and relatability, more than instrumental prowess.
Featuring five unique and eclectic tracks, ‘Let’s Leave the Greyhounds in the Slips’ is an intense dive into the band’s stylings and influences, spanned across pop, blues and rock’n’roll. Again, the lyrical direction will dictate the perfect sonic framework for a song. Take for instance the title track; in it, the listener will rejoice in the anthemic, almost orchestral instrumental, perhaps even cinematic. That fits the piece’s theme, navigating the fear of expressing love and the confusion and anger that comes with being led on – we have all been there, haven’t we?
