Currently engaged in a series of live shows around the South, Streamer is perhaps an unusual project, yet it’s packed with charisma and mystery. You see, the group champions a unique eclectic artistry, balancing its influences between electronica, EDM, rock and pop. The result is a series of uplifting, evocative pieces, perfectly suitable for easy listening or let-loose dancing at live shows.
Even among such rowdy and anthemic records, Streamer boast a healthy amount of melancholia and nostalgia in their catalogue. Be it for the retro sound designs (at times), be it for the intense, slow-burn lyricism that eventually explodes into club-oriented euphoria. ‘Festival’ – the group’s latest effort – continues on the same path, engulfing the listeners into majestic and cathartic harmonies with a powerful drop.
Interestingly, Streamer can be defined as a cross-generational outfit, something that’s particularly relevant in today’s music industry, where artists enter the limelight progressively younger. The Faversham-based band comprises Tom (vocals, guitars, and keys), Jez (bass, BVs, and keys), and Tom’s son Freddie (drums and percussion). Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Festival’, they explain: “‘Festival’ is about having some fun with larger audiences and
keeping music live.”
