Stefan West Shares Latest Gem ‘Happily Ever After’

If we had to define ‘Happily Ever After’ with a single word, we’d say elegant. But also cathartic and poignant. Moving at a slow pace, the record feels incredibly anthemic and cinematic, providing a simple yet hard-hitting sonic landscape that perfectly fits Stefan West’s evocative and fragile vocals. Introduced by a cryptic and minimal drum groove, ‘Happily Ever After’ gradually blooms into a fuller, emotional gem, making good use of piano riffs and light distortion, even going as far as including a charming guitar solo.

The chorus is intense and uplifting, sharing a strong sense of acceptance and hope. West’s lyricism truly comes into its own, supercharged by the tangible energy emanating from the instrumental and the many vocal harmonies. Surprisingly, the track ends on a rather high note, with once again a fierce guitar part indulging into slightly heavy territories.

‘Happily Ever After’, anticipates an upcoming album, ‘Cambridge’, expected in 2024. Speaking about the inspiration behind the single, West explains: “A beautiful mesh of a really intense moment I had never experienced before, accompanied by a train of thought that felt incredibly freeing, painted into a new world in my mind.”
