‘While my guitar gently beeps’ is the brand new single from Tonypandy-based post-punk, noise-rock act SpünDay. Serving as the follow-up to October’s ‘Omni Nuisance’, ‘While my guitar gently beeps’ is one of the fiercest and most aggressive tunes I’ve ever come across. It’s raw, explosive, and unrefined in the best possible way! Once described as sounding like “a chainsaw fight in a shopping trolley”, SpünDay pull out all the stops on the track and, when finished, you’re not exactly sure what just hit you.
“Our main influences are Melt Banana and a vivid imagination,” says the band. It was actually after watching a Melt Banana gig in Cardiff that Paul, Daf, and Matthew decided to form SpünDay, and they haven’t looked back since.
‘While my guitar gently beeps’ serves as a stinging attack on a music industry that stifles creativity and fears change. Constantly re-hashing and re-packaging the same music just does not sit well with SpünDay, and we couldn’t be more behind them in their journey! We have no doubt that you’ll be hearing a lot more from SpünDay in the near future, and look forward to hearing what they get up to next!
