Sparky’s Magic Piano Continue Their Prolific Year with ‘Two Shadows’

Sparky’s Magic Piano are a band on a mission. Since last May, they have been dead set on releasing a single per month, an endeavour that is now taking them to their latest effort ‘Two Shadows’. Apart from the obvious productive streak the band has enjoyed, it’s worth remembering that every piece they unveil is never repetitive. They like to keep things fresh and bold.

‘Two Shadows’ follows that very same ethos. In this case, Sparky’s Magic Piano indulge in witty time signatures and prog-infused guitar layers. The result is a track that’s elegant and evocative, but also technical and intricate, making for a rich and eclectic listening experience. The track was recorded in the group’s home studio in Hanwell, by Pob (guitar, vocals), Alex (guitar), Jill (bass), Terence (drums), and Marion (lead vocals).

Speaking about the inspiration behind the lyricism, they explain: “It delves into themes of holding on and not being able to move forward”. We feel like ‘Two Shadows’ is a nice and interesting diversion from Sparky’s Magic Piano, and we hope they’ll remain as bold and experimental as they seem to have become. Time to embrace authenticity!
