Space Owl Craft Kaleidoscopic Gem ‘Mountain Song’

Perhaps not for everyone, ‘Mountain Song’ will be a fitting match for all the musos out there, or anyone growing up listening to fusion and jazz. You see, the track is yet again a nugget of joy to overstep the genius mind of Ari Joshua. Hailing from Seattle, the talented guitarist and composer seems to thrive in collaboration and eclecticism. Often modulating his ensemble, Joshua pursues what’s best for the track, being a virtuoso only when needed, never overstepping his mark.

‘Mountain Song’ falls under the Space Owl brand, a project that has Joshua in the driving seat. The record feels quite kaleidoscopic, almost psychedelic, as it proceeds through witty riffs and complex harmonic material. This creates a unique blend of influences, here distilled into a wholesome, authentic offering.

Featuring Bassist Bob Lovelace, Drummer John Ewing, and Keyboardist David Appelbaum, the record delves into a very dear memory, stemming from a trip to a mountain peak with friends. The stunning natural panorama greatly inspired Joshua for ‘Mountain Song’, allowing us into the majestic character of our planet and the relationships forged within.
