While many might perceive rock music as a genre that’s gently on its way out, we can confirm it is still very much alive, kept afloat by heroes from all around the world. One of those figures is certainly South African guitarist and songwriter Vince van der Walt, heading a modern alt-rock project named Soul Suture. Launched only last year, the project exudes punch, energy, musicianship prowess and songwriting expertise.
Now, Soul Suture returns with their first release of the year: ‘Invincible’, featuring legendary South African rock royalty David Beretta Owens (Lithium, N8ive, The Deadbeats) on vocals. The results are staggering: channelling the best of early ‘2000 alt influences, Soul Suture manage to deliver fresh tones while remaining anchored in tradition. The lyrical value is immense, as it is the vocal charm.
