We are glad to see Sophia Bavishi back with new music. We recently wrote about ‘Electricity’, a dynamic gem we described as an “electrifying and hypnotic tune”. Now, the Phoenix-based songstress reiterates her incredible talent with ‘GTPS’, a single that delves into more evocative and poignant territories, maintaining the same electronic, dreamy imprint of its predecessor.
While the record is packed with textures and ethereal soundscapes, its songwriting roots are perhaps more akin to a ballad, a slow-moving stream of meaningful and relatable lyricism showcasing Bavishi’s soft side. Among synthwave influences and electro-pop extravaganza, Sophia supercharges her vocals with immense charisma and catharsis, crafting a chorus that’s catchy and memorable.
Writing about the troubles and challenges of entering adulthood, the American talent explains: “It creates the scene of being on the edge of young adulthood but not being quite ready to give up the freedom and spontaneity you once had.” Notably, Bavishi wrote and produced the track herself, with additional help from Mark Daniel (mixing) and Jorge Costa (mastering).
