SOFT LAD Shares Exhilarating Gem ‘The Human Condition’

Delving into the freshest indie pop, ‘The Human Condition’ represents the latest effort by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist SOFT LAD (aka Sophie Galpin). A surprising nugget of nostalgia and veiled poignancy, the record sticks to the beaten path, at least when it comes to pop stylings. Once the chorus hits, the track really comes into its own. An explosion of summery introspection, controlled euphoria and sonic brightness, providing a memorable and exhilarating musical goo.

Once we delve into SOFT LAD’s artistic background, everything makes sense: from militancy in SELF ESTEEM’s touring band to appearances with the likes of Jessie Ware, Becky Hill and Charli XCX, it’s no wonder how she’s able to pen such intriguing and relevant material. Simply, it’s a natural talent, a gift that we are confident will take the project towards bigger stages and wider audiences.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘The Human Condition’, SOFT LAD explains: “We always seem to treat the people closest to us badly, and our loved ones really get to see all sides of us – the good, the bad and the ugly.  But true, deep, authentic friendships allow space for fuck ups, apologies, repair and growing together. But most importantly, you are worthy of the kindness your loved ones afford you from yourself too. No-one is perfect, we are all just trying our best.”
