Lately, I’ve noticed that a lot of the new music captivating me is coming from Australian outfits. A special and alluring sound is radiating from Down Under, and I simply cannot get enough of it! Take ‘Coast to Coast’ for example, the brand new single from Adelaide rockers Shifty Peaks. As the follow-up to the band’s debut hit ‘Left for Dead’, ‘Coast to Coast’ is a rollercoaster of sonic excitement and pleasure. Highly infectious and guaranteed to keep you hooked from start to finish, it’s a dazzling showcase of Shifty Peaks’ musical prowess.
Not ones to take themselves too seriously, the band mentions that the recording of ‘Coast to Coast’ came about “through a hazy session sitting around drinking beers and eating heaps of spicy lentil pies”. Isn’t it fascinating how some of the greatest tunes are often born from spontaneous and laidback creative moments?
Inspired by the likes of Skegss, Parquet Courts, The Nude Party, and The Growlers, Shifty Peaks is beginning to see the gig offers rolling in. It’s no surprise really. Given their high energy and vibrant sound, it’s easy to imagine them putting on an unforgettable live show. Hopefully, one day, we’ll get to experience these fellas in the flesh!
