Shany Bartal Introduces Herself on the Powerful ‘Ms. Munroe’

‘Ms. Munroe’ is the rocky, bluesy, and soulful debut single from Tel Aviv-based singer/songwriter Shany Bartal. Teaming up with producer Joseph E-shine and multi-instrumentalist Roy Rabinovichi, the result is a forceful, high-energy, and anthemic tune that I honestly cannot get out of my head! The addition of wind instruments to proceedings is a real game-changer and adds the sort of depth and intensity to the track that just sinks right into your soul. ‘Ms. Munroe’ is original yet familiar, fresh but also somehow nostalgic and sentimental. How does Shany do it? That is her gift!

The song touches on the theme of unrequited love yet, upon closer examination, its true grandeur lies in its ability to uplift and empower women. A message of celebrating one’s bold and defiant attitude, and having a sense of self-celebration that exudes confidence and acceptance. “To be yourself is all that you can do,” as Chris Cornell famously once said.

‘Ms. Munroe’ also serves as a tribute to Jill Monroe, a fictional character played by the late Farrah Fawcett in the first season of Charlie’s Angels. The tune is an absolute belter, and it’s hard to believe that this is Shany’s debut single. Here’s to many many more in the near future!
