Shaker Bloomheart Release Latest EP ‘stickintheheadable’

When delving into ‘stickintheheadable’, the listener must be ready to deal with Shaker Bloomheart’s personal brand of unpretentious rock. Friendly, lyrically rich and often soothing, the band’s musical output channels the best indie and pop influences into a quirky guitar-filled journey, echoing the likes of Modest Mouse and Death Cab For Cutie.

From fast-paced, lively gems such as ‘Kandy’ and ‘Mistakes’, quite fierce and empowering, the record shifts to quieter efforts, such as the crepuscular ‘Back and Forth’, passing through more saturated and fuzzy tones in ‘Dutch Angles’. The result is an EP that feels dynamic and ever-evolving, highlighting the different personalities and strengths enjoyed by the American group.

Formed by Mike Bastzer and Brad Shults, with the recent addition of Rebecca Beracce on drums, Shaker Bloomhearth call Seattle their home, a city that is bound to inspire them towards writing the best guitar-based music possible. Frankly, ‘stickintheheadable’ is exactly that – an approachable album with a ton of songwriting value in it.
