Eighteen years ago, the five-piece alternative-rock act Seven Degrees From Center released a classic album in the form of ‘Catalog Debris’. Hailing from Indianapolis, it was the band’s very first release and has undoubtedly stood the test of time, becoming a truly historic record for fans and critics alike. At the time, the band were included in selected Warped Tour dates and got to open for some large national acts, creating a serious name and reputation for themselves. Now celebrating the release of ‘Catalog Debris’ on vinyl, with a limited pressing of just three hundred albums, Seven Degrees From Center take us back to their origins.
‘Looking for an Exit’ gets things underway, a punk-rock gem that sets an energetic and forceful tone straight from the off. ‘Suddenly a Light’ then follows, and continues the spirited and passionate momentum established by its predecessor. Bursting with infectious melodies and driving guitar riffs, it’s another masterly demonstration of the band’s prowess and vision.
The eleven-track album, thematically, deals with the struggles of love and life and the anxieties that are associated, delving into the depths of human emotions with unflinching honesty. It was a classic record then, and it remains so today! You can grab ‘Catalog Debris’ on vinyl here.
