We are aware that instrumental albums are not for everyone. Some peeps need an intimate, personal connection with human vocals in order to relate to a record. We are the opposite – we are strongly drawn to the emotional energy in each musical frequency, and see music as a holistic state of mind, a combination of lyrical and sonic intensity, rather than a purely literary exercise. On those premises, we were euphoric to discover ‘All Inclusive’, a blissful, dreamy and nostalgic album by American producer See Level.
A long and nuanced record, reaching a staggering twenty tracks, ‘All Inclusive’ could be considered a lo-fi piece, although it’s much more than that, and it’s perhaps not even really lo-fi. Balanced on chillwave, vaporware and leftfield electronica, the album provides escapism and melancholia, even delving into gaming music territories. Based in Los Angeles, See Level really pens a masterpiece here, showcasing the quality of his production in the process.
Speaking about the album, he explains: “Specifically designed to turn good times into great times, this lineup of twenty sensational songs is meant to play like an audible vacation.”
