‘Happy Dayz’ is the second single from Seasonal Falls, a musical project featuring Swiss-based singer/songwriter Roman Gabriel and vocalist and producer Andrew Pelletier. It’s also, undoubtedly, one of the most lush and compelling pieces of music to have crossed my path recently! Leaning into an indie-folk landscape, it’s a slow and melancholic revelation that showcases the depth of Seasonal Falls’ musical prowess. Full-bodied, homely, and deeply hypnotic, it’s a warm and even somewhat comforting tune that I simply cannot get enough of right now!
In terms of inspiration, the dup points to musicians and acts like Elliott Smith, Pavement, Wilco, and Teenage Fanclub. Having both performed in previous bands, Roman with The Kind Hills and The Dentals and Andrew with Fur Trader, the pair now feel they’re exactly where they belong musically. “The debut album of Seasonal Falls and the songs on it best represent the indie music that we love,” they say.
Sadly, we’re going to have to wait until the tenth of May to hear the full album, but the duo will be releasing two more singles before then. With the delectable appetizer that is ‘Happy Dayz’, Seasonal Falls has set the stage for a musical feast. We cannot wait!
