Last year, fellow writer Gabriel Mazza introduced me to an album called ‘Forever Us’. Courtesy of New York-based singer/songwriter and producer Sean Kennedy, the collection of relatable and emotional pop tunes quickly became a staple in my playlist. We’ve been keeping a close eye (and ear) on what Sean’s been up to ever since and today I am honoured to introduce you to ‘Since You Left’, his brand new single. Let’s dive in!
A powerful and heartfelt anthem, ‘Since You Left’ explores the raw and painful feelings of splitting up and heartbreak. Juxtaposing the poignant lyrics with a generally buoyant and optimistic soundscape, the ballad strikes a remarkable balance, delivering a moving emotional punch wrapped up in an uplifting musical package.
“This track was so creatively challenging,” admits Kennedy. “I spent months coming up with different melodic layers and it’s a track that I’m extremely proud of”. The finest creations emerge from patience, and ‘Since You Left’ is a song that Sean has every right to be proud of!
Capturing the lingering pain of losing someone you love, Sean’s latest tune is a stirring reminder of how powerful and healing music can be when crafted with care. A stellar piece of music!
