Every once in a while a song comes along that, for some reason or another, just hits you right in the feels. The new single from the Australian-based act Satellite Train is one such song! Simply entitled ‘Lies’, the tune is a super sweet power-pop hit that has been concocted by an exceptionally accomplished lineup of musicians. Brought together by Icehouse’s Michael Paynter, Satellite Train features artists who have played with Ringo Starr, Paul Kelly, John Mayer, and Jane’s Addiction just to name a few.
‘Lies’ contains a vocal performance to remember from Paynter, as he showcases his ridiculous range and classic rock ‘n’ roll style. His voice has often been compared to John Farnham’s by critics, the legendary Australian singer and one-time Little River Band artist.
There’s something that is so honest and genuine about ‘Lies’. There’s no bravado or pomposity – just pure and unadulterated authenticity. Satellite Train are clearly just getting started, and there’s truly no telling how far they can go. With their wealth of knowledge and experience, I certainly wouldn’t want to be the one to bet against them! Onwards and upwards for Satellite Train!
