A rising force in the Japanese and global pop-punk landscape, Sarina has recently unveiled her latest effort, a fierce, all-out collection of empowering and personal anthems, all charged up with hard-hitting guitar tones and furious drum grooves. Hailing from Tokyo, the talented songstress has been growing a sizeable following on both social media and streaming services – not a surprise, judging by how good her music is.
‘Break Out!!’ is the strongest evidence of that. Sarina’s latest EP, the record navigates relatable and introspective storytelling, dealing with coming-of-age pains and social anthems. Grammy-winning producer Erik Ron (I Prevail, Staind, Bush) and platinum record producer and Escape the Fate guitarist Kevin Thrasher (Panic! At The Disco, Blink-182, Avril Lavigne) join the project on production duties, delivering a high-level, global sound that has nothing to envy to more established and bigger acts (‘I KNow Nothing’ offers a decisively more pop-oriented relief, if needed).
The result is a very Anglo-American record, almost a throwback to the glorious era of Avril Lavigne. Yet, Sarina manages to offer a personal touch, a unique imprint on material that’s bound to sound familiar to many listeners out there. It also contains her “innermost thoughts and emotions” – if you need one reason more to listen to it!
