We particularly appreciate the guitar tones in ‘Spaces In Between’; incredibly luscious, blissful and spacious, they perfectly fit the ‘dreamy’ character tag. Overall, the whole record exhibits the same quality: built over shoegaze and indie stylings, it favours evocative, hazy tunes with a keen eye for escapism and nostalgia.
Called a ‘mini album’ by its author – American outfit Sansyou – it contains six stunning tracks, all pretty loyal to the same theme, vaporous guitars and loose drums. Three songs feature elegant female vocals, while three are purely instrumental. It doesn’t make a lot of difference either way: the sonic matter here is very imaginative and cathartic, causing the listeners to get lost in their thoughts and memories.
Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Spaces In Between’, the Washington D.C.-based group explain: “What lies in the intersection between sight and sound?” The answer to that question is directly related to you all listening to the mini album.
