Often, music becomes a tool for self-empowerment and resilience. By offering room for growth and change, making art quickly becomes the answer to a challenging situation, almost a cathartic experience. Rylie Wyane knows it well. After his long-term marriage ended in ruins, he found the energy and the willingness to re-invent himself, under the guise of a clearly talented musical outfit. It’s because of all this, that today we are able to enjoy ‘The Race Is On’, Wyane’s debut effort, the start of a probably glorious journey.
Emerging from Nebraska, Rylie decided to release a cover track first – many will remember ‘The Race Is On’ from Sawyer Brown, putting it on the chart in the 80s. Oozing Country energy and rock stylings, the record seems to lay the basis of the Rylie Wyane sound: a strong Americana outlook blended with upbeat rock riffing and Country lyricism. It’s the USA dream in full swing.
Declaring the idea behind the project, Wayne explains: “In the face of adversity, it would be easy for one to become bitter and resentful. However, despite being knocked down and broken, I persevered and emerged from the storm with my head held high. I hope to use my experiences to inspire others who may be facing their own struggles. Even though life can be tough and unpredictable, I believe that it can also be an opportunity to spread hope and love”.
