Here at Mesmerized, we are proud to adopt a multi-genre approach. Believing in talent and ideas, we simply refuse to be pigeonholed into certain categories. With this in mind, please allow me to introduce you to Roman Angelos, the nom de plume of Brooklyn-based producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Rich Bennett. Having assembled a stellar cast of musicians to work alongside, Rich recently put out his brand new album ‘Tropical Nites’, a rich and cinematic instrumental offering that I’ve fallen deeply in love with.
The record’s lead single ‘Motorbike Journey’ also serves as the album opener and it sets the scene perfectly. Easing the listener into what will ultimately become an atmospheric and ambient sonic journey, we are greeted with a vibraphone, a sexy trombone, and a soothing flute.
‘Regretful Echoes’ then makes its appearance and brings with it a faster tempo than its predecessor. Equally intricate and intoxicating, it’s another truly stunning piece of music.
‘Secret Officers Meeting’ has a mysterious and almost haunting vibe to it, and the record’s title track sucks you deep into a lush and enchanting soundscape.
With six more tunes to discover, I won’t spoil the immersive adventure that awaits within this remarkable album. All I will say is sit back, unwind, and enjoy!
