Rohith Shaker Unveils Dreamy Gem ‘These Walls’

A lulling rollercoaster, ‘These Walls’ feels extremely light and soothing on the souls. Built on plastic, soul-flavoured indie pop, the track is elegant and charming, driven by the expert and slightly psychedelic vocals of Rohith Shaker. It’s a true artistic journey: clocking in at five minutes in length, ‘These Walls’ flourishes on kaleidoscopic textures, spacious guitars and jazzy drum grooves. Ethereal horns add a further layer of magic, helping the piece navigate to an anthemic ending.

Unexpectedly, the outro takes a reverb feed from the record and expands it into mangled, abstract textures, incredibly angelic and cathartic. Almost as if Shaker wanted to reiterate his dreamy character, something that has always been very clear. Overall, ‘These Walls’ is a track that won’t be forgotten anytime soon, and one that feels fresh and edgy, pursuing its own path rather than commercial trends.

Speaking about the inspiration behind it, Shaker explains: “I spent a lot of time experimenting with sounds and seeing how I could merge the vintage horns and string arrangements with electronic textures.”
