Gearing up for an EP expected later this year, Rogue FX seems to have found a direction and identity. Leaving complex electronica behind, the British producer moves to brighter and groovier synth-pop, blending retro influences with house music stylings. The result can be clearly seen in ‘The Fifth Step’, the project’s latest effort.
In it, the listener will rejoice in Rogue FX’s euphoric and dynamic sonic outlook, borrowing from 80s pop, italo-disco, and classic house – there’s a healthy amount of musical history in there. Moreover, ‘The Fifth Step’ can boast some stunning vocals, really supercharging the record. Catchy, visionary and uplifting: Rogue FX really hits the mark with this one.
