You can easily tell how much we appreciate Roger Ricks’ artistry. Writing about ‘What A Place’ earlier this year, we proudly declared: “Roger really hits the mark here, delivering a performance that has nothing to envy to more emblazoned and famous figures in the industry”. We stand by our words: the Swiss artist returns with another slice of charisma and musical prowess, ‘I Would Do It’.
This time around the track is politely sweeter and more poignant, showcasing a different side of Ricks’ rich and nuanced artistry. Introduced by a luscious acoustic guitar, Roger then lays down evocative vocals with a distinct anthemic twist. Melodies and technical features are absolutely excellent, mirroring the fine musicianship behind the project.
Developing into a smooth acoustic gem, ‘I Would Do It’ is an uplifting, glorious gem. As Ricks explains: “It’s a tribute to those with heavy hearts, born out of the deep emotions of unrequited love. The track is not only a powerful musical statement but also a source of encouragement for anyone struggling with dark emotions.”
