Emerging from Toronto, Riskyisme is quickly scrambling the global hip-hop scene, throwing powerful nuggets of self-inflicted introspection and modern, cutting-edge rap production. Oscillating between punchy, trap episodes and more nuanced and mellow eclectic tones, ‘To The Money’ is the talented Canadian’s latest effort, a nostalgic and meaningful anthem dedicated to everyone that’s striving for the best, no matter the obstacles that might set in their way.
Out now via See More Records, ‘To The Money’ sees Riskyisme on the production chair too, signalling the work of an artist that likes to curate every aspect of his output. Describing the lyrical inspiration behind the record, the Toronto creative explains: “The song was inspired by the Kevin Cossom song called “I Get Paper”. I want this record to take the listener on a new journey while still feeling a bit familiar. It’s about chasing money but also enjoying yourself while doing so. My main goal was to deliver a refreshing beat, along with fun storytelling that paints a picture.”
