‘Dog Days’ was actually released towards the end of last year, so we apologise for being a little late to the party. That said, the catchy and upbeat tune from the French-based hip-hop duo Rhythmic Quest is a timeless classic – so we’re all good! Comprised of brothers Niel (Doc Wes) and Ben (JP), Rhythmic Quest are true indie artists in every sense of the word. They produce, mix, record, and master everything themselves! Getting back to ‘Dog Days’, it’s a track that, frankly, just puts me in a good mood. Those cheery keys, funky basslines, and buoyant drums all combine with the exceptional vocal performances from both brothers to create an absolute stunner!
Influenced by the greats; Kendrick Lamar, Wu-Tang Clan, J. Cole, The Notorious B.I.G., and many others, Rhythmic Quest pay homage to their roots while at the same time creating something fresh and innovative. “We feel like hip-hop has become a great medium for us to express ourselves,” says Doc Wes. “We’re excited to see where this journey takes us,” adds his brother.
