Revisit Repeat’s Gritty and Anthemic Masterpiece ‘Reasons’

Stockholm-based stoner rock trio Repeat came storming into my world about two months ago when I stumbled across their sophomore album ‘Rat Race’. Describing it as “their most ferocious and intense music to date,” it was an untamed offering that I fell deeply in love with. Track four was a tune called ‘Reasons,’ and provided a bit of respite from the high-octane nature of the rest of the record. Today, I’d like to dive a little deeper into the song.

While still gritty and laden with the band’s signature rawness, ‘Reasons’ expertly balances intensity with a melodic charm that’s hard to ignore. It’s an anthemic piece really, and brings to mind the work of early Green Day or Nirvana at their most emotionally charged. With a runtime of just under three minutes, it’s actually the longest tune on ‘Rat Race,’ but it feels like it passes in the blink of an eye, and it certainly never overstays its welcome.

With several gigs booked in Sweden and Germany, and rave reviews coming from all corners of the globe, Repeat shows no signs of slowing down as they ride this rising wave of acclaim. Poised to make a serious impact on the scene, they’re definitely an outfit worth checking out!

Serious tune alert! Enjoy ‘Reasons’ on Spotify now:
