Rehya Stevens is an award-winning and festive-loving musician hailing from Los Angeles who has just released a delicate and emotive ballad called ‘Early Winter’. In contrast to Rehya’s usual joyful Christmas catalogue, ‘Early Winter’ is a tune that offers up something a little different. “It isn’t a Christmas song per se,” says the artist. “But it is certainly fit for the tender side of the season”. A track about gaining wisdom from our errors, learning to cherish moments with loved ones, and the importance of treating them with respect and complete acceptance, ‘Early Winter’ is one of the most beautiful, thoughtful, and introspective pieces of music I’ve heard all year!
Working alongside film and television composer Brian Steckler, an award-winning artist in his own right, Stevens concocts a gentle gem with soulful keys, an airy acoustic guitar, and haunting strings. As for her vocals, they’re as full-bodied and heartfelt as anything she’s released before, and just what fans and listeners have come to expect and love about the musician!
Later this month, Rehya will be putting out ‘Santa’s Taking Over the Town’, a twenty-one-track album that will originally only be available on CD. How old-school is that? We absolutely love it – and were quickly becoming enamoured with this gifted artist!
