It took us a while to come to terms with Nicky Lipp’s story. A story of redemption, authenticity and overcoming. You see, Lipp shares a story of early success in the industry. He was initiated by the big majors, giving him a slice of heaven, hoping for a life of stardom. Instead, the experience ended negatively, leaving the talented Scotland native in a disillusioned state for almost a decade. Taking a break from music, he reconnected to it only in 2020, thanks to a series of livestreams. A few sold-out real-life shows later pushed Nicky to a welcome comeback to music recording.
‘ONE OF THESE DAYS’ is the debut single of Lipp’s newly-found artistic vein. An eclectic indie-pop gem, the record is a damn masterpiece. It’s not just the heartfelt and relatable songwriting, hitting hard like a brick, but also the artist’s gritty, evocative and extremely charming vocals. Boasting near-perfect tone, Nicky Lipp cuts through the noise characterising himself as a fresh, edgy and wise offering. We are big fans already!
Gearing up for an EP release early next year, Lipp’s comeback has certainly made him realize how his songwriting possesses the sheer force and unique quality of being able to connect with his listeners. That’s a precious gift. One we are confident will put the Edinburgh native exactly where he belongs. On stages around the world.
