Red and the Revelers Hype Up Their Brass Section on ‘Shattered Lives’

If you are looking for energy and good vibes, we know exactly where you should look at. Presenting Red and the Revelers, eclectic musical ensemble emerging from Alabama. Their formula is rather simple, yet super charming and uplifting: soul and rock energy balanced with the orchestral flair of a brass section, effectively creating something that places itself at the crossroad of ska, soul and funk, with the occasional distorted guitar. A pretty compelling offering, if you ask us. ‘Shattered Lives’ is Red and the Revelers’ latest effort, a feel-good, groovy and nuanced gem fully showcasing the artistic magnitude of the Alabama group.

Built over a cerebral and rhythmic guitar riff, the track also features a simple yet effective drum part, Motown-like percussions, groovy bass and the ever-surprising brass section, highlighting key points in the track with its force and utter majestic character. There’s a bit of everything, from James Brown-flavoured vocals to Red Hot Chili Peppers’ rebellious and eclectic rock.

Produced by Will Turpin and Brian Collins, ‘Shattered Lives’ also marks the group’s return to the recorded music scene after a long hiatus, and signals the start of a productive year for Red and the Revelers. Anticipating two more releases ahead of the summer, the Alabama band is also announcing their ‘Real Big Deal’ tour, and an album release.
