Fine, I’ll confess, this track hits a bit closer to home! Then again, it comes courtesy of a Cape Town-based musical wizard named Rebecca Helen after all. But even putting my bias aside, Rebecca’s new deep-house offering ‘Sensations’ is a shimmering delight, and the perfect invitation to lose yourself in sound.
Working alongside SAMA-nominated musician Sasha Righini, (The Plastics) Rebecca and Righini build layers of immersive and transportive synthy textures. Making use of a rising arpeggio and the artist’s ethereal vocals floating on top, ‘Sensations’ is a true journey through the depths of electronic bliss.
As her fifth single of the year, and after a few listens to previous releases, ‘Sensations’ showcases Rebecca’s unbelievably inventive and wide-ranging musical palette. There’s depth and versatility in her artistry – and she brings something fresh to the fore every time.
An electro retreat…a sonic escape…a melodic sanctuary…’Sensations’ transports the listener to a euphoric realm that enchants and electrifies in equal measure. Genuinely flawless from start to finish, it’s a tune I find myself constantly returning to. I think it may have a similar effect on you too.
