It was only last month that I fell rather hard for a silky-smooth piece of country-pop brilliance. Delivered by Las Vegas recording artist Cali Tucker, I proudly declared ‘Country Couture’ a “cocktail of passionate country roots with shimmering pop hooks!” I stand by my words!
Today, however, I’d like to go back to 2021 to a tune called ‘DANDELION’. As Cali’s first original single, the track has recently seen a huge surge of Spotify plays, surpassing 405,000 and becoming the artist’s most successful solo release to date! Let’s dive in!
Working alongside a ridiculously talented group of writers and producers, Tucker goes about concocting a country-infused pop banger. It’s super interesting tracing the roots of the musician’s signature sound, as she tells a story of something (or someone) predatory (a weed) masquerading as something beautiful. “It’s a metaphor for getting rid of that toxic person in our lives,” says Cali. “Even though they may have a lovely exterior”.
Full of life and colour, (just like ‘Country Couture’) it’s easy to understand why ‘DANDELION’ has seen a resurgence in the charts. Expertly produced, unbelievably infectious, and a clear indication that Tucker’s musical ability was there from the start!
Serious tune alert! Enjoy ‘DANDELION’ on Spotify now:
