Radegunds Debut with Euphoric Indie Gem ‘Catch The Crazy’

It’s always euphorically exciting to observe new bands taking the leap into the music scene – this time, we are following Cambridge newcomers Radegunds as they approach their debut effort, ‘Catch The Crazy’, a stunning and fierce indie rock tune with a knack for uplifting energy and catchy choruses. There’s a touch of Kasabian and The Fratellis in it, a slightly sleazy character that reminds us of the early 2000’ indie craze. Well, Radegunds do a good job of taking all that cultural baggage and shifting it in the contemporary landscape, while still embodying that raw, primal feeling that is perhaps the missing element nowadays.

Notably, the English group is mainly a brothers-fuelled outfit, with Joe and Will Vallely founding the band during the pandemic. As they explain, “while others were stockpiling household essentials, we stockpiled dozens of riffs and song skeletons.” That worked, the two siblings were obviously driven by some big talent there. Let’s just hope they won’t end up like another set of brothers (cue Oasis).

Alchemy is important, and the Radegunds seem to have it, working as a compact musical entity and reaching higher territories. If ‘Catch The Crazy’ is anything to go by, the Cambridge creatives could go far. We’ll be here supporting.
