Purple Stone Release Synth-Soaked and Dreamy New Single ‘I’m The One’

At the end of last month, I fell deeply in love with a little tune called ‘I’m The One’. Courtesy of Stockholm-based duo Johan Hansson and David Skog, who perform under the moniker Purple Stone, the synth-soaked and dreamy track instantly wormed its way into my heart.

From the driving bass and raw electric guitars to the analog synthesizers and serene vocals, ‘I’m The One’ creates an atmospheric blend that’s as hypnotic as it is heartfelt. Transporting the listener someplace else for just under four minutes, it’s an invitation to escape reality and simply revel in a warm sonic embrace.

What’s the underlying message of the song you ask? Well, as the pair so wonderfully articulate, ‘I’m The One’ is about “going your own way and not listening to the naysayers”. A simple reminder some might say, though possibly one of the hardest to actually live by and practise.

Serving as Purple Stone’s first single from their upcoming sophomore album, ‘I’m The One’ is an auditory journey that you wish didn’t have to end. It’s just perfect from start to finish and, with a decent-sized discography already to their name, there’s plenty more Purple Stone to dig your teeth into while waiting for the new record.

Serious tune alert! Enjoy ‘I’m The One’ on Spotify now:
