PUFFBOY and $kit Team Up on ‘Generational $uicide’

Do you ever look back at your past and reflect on what went wrong? Over the pain that you had to constantly process? PUFFBOY does exactly that, crafting a melancholic, nostalgic jewel that will appeal to everyone in the emo-rap scene. Channelling the eclecticism that’s constantly moving the genre forward, ‘Generational $uicide’ combines a mellow hip-hop-flavoured instrumental with a blend of sung lyricism and sharp rap flow, a combo that’s obviously working well.

Teaming up with fellow creative $kit, PUFFBOY delivers a fresh, edgy single that’s frankly a joy to listen to – especially if you enjoy alternative territories like we at Mesmerized do. Having met through a common connection, the pair proceeded to pack ‘Generational $uicide’ with tons of emotional energy, while also blinking an eye to hyper-pop and lo-fi stylings. PUFFBOY’s vocals are delivered with a gloomy, dark aura, the perfect match for such a nuanced track.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song the American lyricist and vocalist explains: “Without getting into too much detail, this song is a collection of thoughts, feelings, and actions (sadly) over the years. As a wise man once said to me, turn your pain into punchlines”.
