Latest effort ‘For You’ navigates towards the same direction, using kindness and acceptance as its North Star. In fact, Love is what motivates the Namibian rapper to be the best version of himself, day after day making useful choices towards personal development.
Lucky for us, he’s taking note of that very same personal journey in music form, sharing gem after gem with a distinctly modern afrobeat character. That’s why we appreciate ‘For You’ so much. While being a relatively short episode – clocking in at just above the two-minute mark – it is packed with tons of meaning and empowering qualities, making it a worthy listening experience.
On a bed of sonically enticing, bouncy and eclectic beats, Proklaim layers his hard-hitting lyrical flow, always delivered with confidence and charisma. As he explains: “It was a quick session, I wanted to delve into another afrobeat piece and selected this beat to buy online, it was an organic creative process..hummed a melody to the beat and came up with a hook, then wrote and laid the verses”.
