‘LIFE’ sounds pretty glorious from down here. Proklaim lives in his artistic universe: a place that’s vibrant, uplifting and insanely groovy. It’s also a place that’s higher up, an otherworldly bubble that sees him being insanely productive while maintaining a constant forward-thinking approach. It works: we love his style, so energetic and vibrant, yet also nuanced and meaningful. Not everyone can achieve that.
Following up from his previous effort ‘Crown’ – a track we described as “a slice of mellow, nuanced hip-hop, drenched in old-school flair yet incredibly contemporary” – Prokaim now returns with ‘LIFE’, a poppier offering that’s as bright as it is empowering. Built over a funky, hip-hop instrumental, the record sees the Namibian rapper engaging with his evocative and charming vocals, resulting in a true, unfiltered bop.
As Proklaim explains: “I like 70s funk and Daft Punk’s music i wanted to try rap over that type of sonic tapestry”. A formula that’s clearly working.
