‘Shane’ is the latest offering from Baltimore-based singer/songwriter and synthwave extraordinaire Rob Bradley, better known by his moniker Power Rob. Teaming up for the first time with South Carolina-based electronic artist Bending Grid, the joint effort has led to a deeply hypnotic, infectious, and frankly addictive piece of music.
Effortlessly bridging nostalgia-laced, vintage, synthy goodness with cutting-edge production, the immersive tune tells a tale that speaks to the dangers of falling in love. Hey, nothing says love hurts like some synth arpeggios and a cautionary tale!
Apart from his solo work, Rob also formed the rock/pop act Thrillkiller, whose 2016 debut album ‘Showdown’ was met with high praise from listeners and critics alike. He’s performed as the lead in the Baltimore Rock Opera Society’s production of Valhella and has even been employed to recreate vocal lines ranging from Michael Jackson to Joe Cocker. A true jack of all trades!
Hopefully the first of many new releases, ‘Shane’ is a slice of synthwave genius, and we can’t wait to hear what Power Rob has next up his sleeve!
