Back in 2019, Andrea, a producer from Milan, was looking for a vocalist to work with on a trip-hop project. After failing to find anyone suitable, a friend suggested Ana. Thus, Anaté was born. The pair has been quite productive, crowning last year with an extensive album, ‘Confession’. Championing a sultry and soulful trip-hop style, the project feels like a perfect match between vocal intensity and intimate productions, helping their tracks stand out among today’s musical crowds.
Claiming to have written over 20 songs, most of which were recorded remotely, It was just a matter of time before we got to hear them. Now, Anaté is gearing up for an upcoming album release, landing in 2023. In the meantime, they will be unveiling a plethora of singles, giving us a refined taste of what’s to come. Following up from ‘After’, released only last month, ‘I Want You’ is the duo’s latest effort.
Layering bouncy beats with orchestral strings riffing, the track feels playful and bright, leaving gloomy soundscapes behind for a more upbeat outlook. Once the chorus hits, all hells break loose: boasting a strong yet polite EDM sound, the record manages to become a banger. Relatable and memorable, we are confident its love-related lyrics will connect with many of us out there.
