Plasma Chasms Unveil Cosmic Offering ‘Already Waiting’

A nuanced and ethereal offering, ‘Already Waiting’ is a rather curious record. Built on modulating synthetisers and psychedelic textures, it also carries a strong scent of lazy indie grooves and coolness, resulting in a formula that’s highly unique and quirky. We could describe it as the child of Pink Floyd and LCD Soundsystem, yet still preserving its own, unmistakable identity.

Behind such a luscious track, we find Los Angeles-based duo Plasma Chasms. Comprised of Australian Jane Drewett and American Adrian Guerrero, the project has been active for a few years now, fiercely experimenting towards a higher state of consciousness – or so it seems. As they describe themselves: “Fourth stop on the cosmic elevator.” The listening experience is better in the evening, or even in the dark. The listeners should let their minds roam free – just enjoy it.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Already Waiting’, Plasma Chasms explain: “It tells a story of unrequited love and misunderstanding. It asks the question, What if the love you thought was never reciprocated actually was? Nothing is ever as it seems.”
