Both members of Dvrk Romantics are not strangers to the world of rock’n’roll, inspiring them to explore a new interpretation of the genre on their latest single. After working together previously in writing, Rachel Di Basio and Micky Walters teamed up to deliver Dvrk Romantics.
Ambient noise drowns the opening of the track, creating a spine-tingling opener soon to be greeted with the lustrous vocals of the opening verse. The Debut Single focuses solely on creating an ambient aura, and does so successfully, indicating that the duo have found their signature sound, and impressively so early on in their journey as a band.
Their debut single is somewhat complex, crawling in and out of sombre pits, but ultimately the track is one of charm and holds the ability to enchant listeners with its whimsical tone. This complexity does not carry on through the lyrics, however, which is fortunate, as it allows listeners to absorb the beauty of the mysteriousness of the track and be carried to another dimension solely through the soundtrack.
‘Love In A Time Of Danger’ is a breathtaking debut from the duo, making them a band to hold a close eye on in the anticipation of similar success in their upcoming releases.
