Peppermint Moon Shares Meaningful EP ‘Pocket Dial Tears’

Certainly a very personal record, ‘Pocket Dial Tears’ carries its potential in its nuanced and quirky lyricism, guided by the critical and observing eye of Peppermint Moon, the American creative behind such a playful record. You see, this is a pure, unfiltered collection of meaningful songs, packed with taste and charisma. The result is an extensive EP that grabs the listeners by the jacket, taking them into pretty immersing territories.

Peppermint Moon’s casual, rustic vocal delivery perfectly complements the retro sonic settings, drenched in 60s euphoria and classic pop tones. There’s also a distinct amount of fuzziness in it all, adding plenty of drama factor to an already compelling record. Throughout six tracks, the Californian talent’s musical journey unfolds with a certain flexibility, in stylistic terms. Take for instance the semi-electronic, minimal gem ‘I Thought I Knew’, and compare it with the mysteriously psychedelic ‘Like Like Me’, or the graceful distortions in ‘Foxy Friends’: there’s something for everyone in it.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the EP, Peppermint Moon explains: “Pocket Dial Tears” is a phrase that popped into my head that describes the horrible consequences a butt-dial can cause! (It also rhymes with “crocodile tears”, so I thought it was a good title.)”
